If your friend is a Cambridge student, they can purchase their own ticket through the ticketing platform using their CRSid.

If they are not a Cambridge student and do not have a CRSid, Girton students, staff and Fellows can purchase tickets for non-Cambridge guests, provided they have already purchased their own ticket. Girton alumni are also eligible to bring one guest, with both tickets purchased through the ticketing platform.

Yes. Girton students, staff and Fellows can purchase an unlimited number of guest tickets.

Girton alumni can purchase one additional ticket for a guest.

The Committee does not resell tickets or facilitate their redistribution.

Name changes are permitted only for Cambridge student tickets, including tickets held by Girton students and Cambridge student guests. The new ticket holder must also be a current student at the University of Cambridge.

Name changes are not permitted for guest, alumni, staff or Fellow tickets. All permitted name changes must be completed through the ticketing platform at least one week before the Ball. A flat £20 administration fee applies to each name change and must be paid before it is processed.

Requests for name changes to Bursary tickets will be considered by the Committee on a case-by-case basis and require approval. This is to ensure that the College's bursary subsidy is not used for private profit. The Committee reserves the right to void any name change if the new ticket holder does not meet the eligibility requirements.

Reselling or purchasing tickets above their original purchase price, excluding the applicable name change fee, is strictly prohibited. Anyone found selling or attempting to sell tickets above their original purchase price may have all their tickets cancelled without a refund.

No. All tickets are non-refundable and cannot be resold.

No. The Ball operates a strict one-time entry policy. Once you enter, you may stay for the duration of the event, from 9pm to 5am, but you will not be permitted to re-enter if you leave the College grounds.

Anyone leaving the grounds through an exit will have their wristband cut by security and will not be allowed back into the Ball.

Yes. The last entry time is 11pm. No entry will be permitted after this time.

For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, certain items are prohibited from the Ball grounds. These include:

• Food and drink: Outside food and alcohol are not permitted.
• Illegal substances: Recreational drugs are strictly prohibited.
• Weapons and dangerous items: Weapons, lasers, fireworks, flares, Chinese lanterns and drones are not permitted.
• Glassware: Glass items are prohibited in outdoor areas and across event sites.
• Gas canisters and animals: Gas canisters and animals are not permitted, with the exception of certified service animals.
• Music and signage: Musical instruments, amplification equipment, flags, banners, signs and unauthorised promotional materials are prohibited.

Yes. A dedicated queue will be available for queue-jump ticket holders. Further details will be published on the website closer to the event.

Yes. Your ticket includes unlimited food and drinks throughout the night, from 9pm to 5am. Food will be available at various locations across the College grounds.

A variety of cuisines will be available, with options ranging from savoury dishes to sweet treats.

Yes. A range of dietary requirements will be catered for throughout the Ball. Food vendors will clearly display the dietary options available, including vegetarian and meat dishes.

Allergen information will also be displayed at each stall. If you have any questions about specific ingredients or allergens, please speak directly to the vendor.

If you have a life-threatening allergy, please contact springballaccessibility@girton.cam.ac.uk in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

Yes. All drinks are included in the ticket price, with unlimited access to drinks from 9pm to 5am.

Yes. Non-alcoholic drinks will be available at all bars and drinks vendors, including mocktails and soft drinks.

No additional payments will be required during the Ball. Your ticket covers all food, drinks and entertainment, so you can enjoy everything available throughout the night without needing to pay extra.

Yes. A full timetable of performances will be published on the website closer to the event. This will include timings for all stages, rooms and acts throughout the night.

Yes. There will be multiple stages and entertainment areas across the College grounds, including two outdoor stages and several indoor spaces.

Some rooms will be dedicated to live music and performances, while others will offer quieter entertainment for guests looking for a break from the festivities.

All stages and entertainment areas will be covered, either by marquees or indoor venues, so the Ball can continue whatever the weather.

Umbrellas will also be available on request from the Cloakroom or Porters' Lodge.

Yes. Professional photographers will be present throughout the night to capture the event.

Guests are also welcome to take photographs and videos for personal and recreational use.

As outlined in the terms and conditions, the Committee reserves the right to photograph and record the event for promotional and/or legal purposes. Recordings by guests for personal use are permitted, but recording for any other purpose is strictly prohibited. Guests who breach this policy may be asked to stop and, if they refuse, may be removed from the Ball.

No. Parking will not be available at Girton College during the Ball.

If you have accessibility requirements that mean you need parking, please contact springballaccessibility@girton.cam.ac.uk. Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Yes. Designated taxi drop-off and pick-up points will be in place during the Ball.

We encourage guests to use public transport where possible. City Bus routes 5 and 6, as well as the UBus, stop at Girton Corner, approximately a five-minute walk from the College. Details of any additional Ball-specific bus services and timetables will be published on the website closer to the event.

Taxi drop-off: all taxis and private hire vehicles will be redirected to the Mare's Run entrance on Orchard Drive. Vehicles must enter via Orchard Drive, travel along the full length of the drive and exit onto Huntingdon Road. This will operate as a one-way system, and vehicles will not be permitted to turn around or exit via Mare's Run. Taxi companies will be informed of these arrangements, and directional signage will be provided along the main road. A map showing the drop-off route will be published on the website closer to the event.

Taxi pick-up: pick-ups will also take place via Orchard Drive. Taxis will enter through Mare's Run and collect guests at the top of Orchard Drive, near the exit onto Huntingdon Road. A map showing the pick-up arrangements will be published on the website closer to the event.

Uber will be available throughout the night via the Uber app. Alternatively, guests can book taxis directly through local taxi companies.

If needed, the Girton College Porters' Lodge can also assist guests with calling and booking a taxi.

A photo gallery will be published on the website after the event, where guests will be able to view all official photographs from the night.

During the Ball: if you lose something during the event, please report it to either the Cloakroom or the Porters' Lodge. Any items handed in will be taken to one of these locations throughout the night.

After the Ball: if you discover that you have lost something after leaving the College grounds, please email springball@girton.cam.ac.uk, providing as much detail as possible about the missing item.

The Committee will do its best to help locate the item and arrange its return if it has been found.
